Within cmmid mathematical models are used to:
- Understand the natural history and epidemiology of infectious diseases
- Predict the course of epidemics
- Assess different policy options
We also conduct methodological research on:
- New statistical approaches to fit complex models to data
- New methods to survey hard to reach populations
In addition, to improve the predictive performance of our models we conduct surveys on:
- Respiratory illness in the community
- Underlying contact patterns
- The health impact of different infections
